Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for body sculpting?

You may be a candidate if you are seeking non-invasive support for body contouring, skin appearance, muscle activation, temporary fluid retention, or lymphatic wellness. Ideal candidates are committed to hydration, movement, balanced nutrition, and consistency.

A consultation and health-history review are required before treatment. Services may be adjusted, postponed, or declined if a treatment is not appropriate for your current needs.

What are common contraindications?

Certain treatments may not be appropriate for clients with pregnancy, implanted electronic devices, active cancer treatment, active infection, open wounds, blood-clotting concerns, uncontrolled medical conditions, recent surgery, or other health considerations. Your safety is always the priority, and medical clearance may be requested when appropriate.

Can I receive treatment while pregnant?

No. Body sculpting modalities, EMS, cavitation, radio frequency, laser lipolysis, vacuum therapy, and wood therapy are not performed during pregnancy. Manual lymphatic services may also require clearance from your obstetric provider and will be evaluated individually.

Can I receive treatment if I have metal implants?

Metal implants may affect eligibility for certain treatments, especially radio frequency, EMS, or other energy-based modalities. Please disclose all implants, surgical hardware, devices, and treatment areas during your consultation. We may request medical clearance or recommend an alternative service.

Can I receive treatment if I have a pacemaker or implanted electronic device?

No. EMS, radio frequency, and other energy-based services are not appropriate for clients with a pacemaker, defibrillator, neurostimulator, or other implanted electronic device. Please speak with your medical provider regarding any wellness services you are considering.

Can I receive treatment after surgery?

Post-operative clients are welcome only after receiving clearance from their surgeon. Treatment timing, service selection, compression requirements, and recovery recommendations will be guided by your surgeon’s instructions and your individual healing progress.

The Body Atelier™ provides supportive wellness services and does not replace surgical aftercare, wound care, medical treatment, or follow-up with your healthcare provider.

Is it painful?

No. Our treatments are noninvasive and virtually painless, with little to no downtime.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals, but most clients achieve the best results from a series of sessions. (approx. 6-12)

Does body sculpting help me lose weight?

Body sculpting is not a weight-loss program and does not replace nutrition, movement, or medical care. Our non-invasive treatments are designed to complement a healthy lifestyle by supporting body contouring goals, skin appearance, muscle activation, and temporary fluid movement. Results vary, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. For body treatments, a two-piece outfit, sports bra, or comfortable undergarments may be helpful. You may also bring compression garments if they are part of your post-operative care plan.

How many treatments will I need?

Every treatment plan is customized. Many clients choose a series of 6-12 sessions, depending on their goals, treatment area, skin condition, lifestyle, and selected modality. During your consultation, we will discuss a recommended plan and realistic timeline for your individual journey.

How long does it take to see results?

Everybody responds differently, and results depend on your selected treatment, consistency, hydration, activity level, nutrition, skin condition, and individual goals.

Some clients may notice early changes in how an area feels or looks within the first few weeks. However, the most visible results often develop gradually over approximately 30-90 days as the body moves through its natural cellular renewal and collagen-remodeling processes.

For many clients, noticeable progress begins around 3-4 weeks, with fuller results commonly seen between 8-12 weeks. A consistent treatment plan, regular movement, hydration, and healthy lifestyle habits help support and maintain your best outcome.

How much water should I drink?

Hydration is an important part of your treatment experience. We recommend drinking plenty of water before and after your appointment. A general wellness goal for many adults is approximately 64-100 ounces daily, unless your healthcare provider has given you different fluid instructions. Your recommended intake may vary based on your health needs, activity level, and medications.
